
Terms and Conditions of Sale
Acceptance of order -
Following the survey, the customer has a 7-day cooling off period.
Thereafter, if the survey renders the company unable to fulfil the
contract at the original price, the customer has 5 days to accept the
revised pricing or cancel with a full refund. After 7 days, the
customer will be liable for any manufacturer or other costs that may
already have been incurred and will lose their deposit. All products, including equipment, remain the property of the company. Payment -
A deposit will be payable on acceptance of the quote which will be
agreed by both parties. Payment of the balance is immediately due upon
installation. Over £10,000, the company will operate a staged payment
system during construction with a final payment on completion. The
customer shall not be entitled to withhold payment by reson of any
alleged defect. The company will investigate any defects and rectify to
the customer's satisfaction. Product Specification
- Representative samples and brochures will be used to demonstrate a
typical product and its composition. Final product will be of the same
quality or better as we strive to continually offer better quality
products at the same price. The company will not accept responsibility
for minor glass blemishes or imperfections not covered by the
manufacturer's guarantees. Installation -
The customer shall grant the company's employees reasonable access for
taking measurements and for installation. The company will make good
any damage to plaster, rendering or brickwork immediately surrounding
windows or doors, although we cannot guarantee specialist finishes nor
completely avoid damage to surrounding paintwork or wallpaper.The
company accepts no liability for any structural defects at the property
at which the installations are carried out. The customer is responsible
for the removal of any fixtures or fittings that would hinder
installation. The company will be be held responsible for any defects
or potential effects following installation of outsized panes fitted
against the company's recommendation Guarantees- PVCu
-10 years. Glass units - 3 years.Door and window furniture - 1 year
from installation. This guarantee is void where any repairs are carried
out by non-qualified or company-accredited personnel.

Insurance backed guarantees
IPWFI Ltd has been trading since 1991, offering both insurance backed
guarantees and deposit indemnity protection to the home improvement
industry on a wide range of products ranging from, windows, doors,
conservatories in either, UPVc, Aluminium or Hardwood as well as
soffits and fascias. With a membership in excess of 2000 double glazing
companies comprising of small local companies to some of the largest in
the UK we have gained an excellent reputation and are well recognised
as well as respected throughout our industry sector.
As an Appointed Representative of HomePro Limited, which is authorised
and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, and through our
partnerships with other organisations, we are able to provide a wide
range of benefits for our members, some of which are shown below:

All companies applying to become a member of IPWFI are visited
personally by a member of our staff as well as put through a vetting
procedure which includes obtaining references from suppliers and past
customers as well as the financial stability of the company and its
owners/directors.
Since January 2005 the FSA have been responsible for the regulation of
all general insurance matters and under their regulations, only those
authorised by the FSA can deal in insurance matters. IPWFI is an
Appointed Representative of HomePro Limited, which is authorised and
regulated by the FSA.
As an Appointed Representative, we are allowed
to deal in the administration of general insurance matters. This means
that we provide the insurance to the customer direct, thereby ensuring
that the member company do not have to worry about the rules governing
insurance backed guarantees and deposit indemnity cover.
This indemnity protection, which is underwritten by Guarantee
Protection Insurance Limited or Red Sands Insurance Company (Europe)
Limited, provides cover for up to 25% of the contract value and lasts
for 90 days from the date the deposit is paid.
Should the member company cease to trade through
liquidation, bankruptcy or death of the principals prior to any work
commencing, the customer will be able to make a claim.
The guarantee, which again is underwritten by Guarantee Protection
Insurance Limited or Red Sands Insurance Company (Europe) Limited,
mirrors that of the member company's own guarantee, subject to the
terms of the Insurance Policy, and provides cover for up to 10 years
for the full contract value of the installation for repairs or
replacements in the event of the member company ceasing to trade
through liquidation, bankruptcy, or death of the principals.
The installing company has to provide its own guarantee and providing
it remains in business the consumer will never have to resort to the
insurance backed guarantee for remedial work. However, there are an
alarming number of consumers who have had problems only to find that
the original installing company has ceased to trade and have had to
find the costs of having the problem rectified themselves.
Choosing a company that are members of our
organisation and having an insurance backed guarantee will ensure that
you have peace of mind should anything go wrong and the member company
has ceased to trade, as any problems will be rectified with the minimum
amount of fuss.
Upon the successful completion of an installation or home improvement,
simply return the Customer Return Slip from the bottom of the Customer
Return Form and, providing that the contractor is still trading at that
time, we will forward a certificate of insurance to you without delay.
